Tonai site
Historic Site/Japan Heritage
This is the site of a typical Central Highlands village from the early-middle Jomon period and has been designated a Historic Site by the town. It is believed to be two contiguous circular colonies. From the pottery excavated here, it seems that this village was a center of religious worship where ceremonies were carried out, making this a very important site.
