Jakoppara Sites
Historic Site/Japan Heritage
Jakoppara Sites are thought to be a hunting ground in the Kirigamine Highlands from the Paleolithic up to the Jomon Period. Traces of pit traps that used fallen leaves to disguise their openings were discovered here. Some of the obsidian stone tools found from the sites date back 30,000 years, and today they are stored and exhibited at the Suwa City Museum.
