Jyakoppara Site Cluster

Historic Site/Japan Heritage
This is a hunting ground in the Kirigamine Highlands that encircles a Jomon village. Traces of pit traps that used fallen leaves to disguise their openings were discovered here. The oldest obsidian stone tool in the Suwa region (about 30,000 years old) was also excavated from one of these sites. Some of the articles excavated from here are on display at the Suwa City Museum.
