Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
The Nakamichi site is one of the major village sites of the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500?2,500 BC) around the headwaters area of Chikuma river as well as Onitan site. The incense burner-shaped pottery from this site looks like a woman cradling two babies in her arms.
