Articles excavated from the Oomiyama site

Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
At an elevation of 1,300 meters, this is Japan's highest site, and is a village from the middle Jomon period. This village is unique among Jomon villages in the Koshin region as it is the only village situated higher than 1,100 meters above sea level. It is a nationally designated Historic Site. Many pottery vessels and stone tools have been discovered at this site, and the excavated relics give us a glimpse of life in a mountain village.
