Ikenodairagozaiwa Site
Historic Site/Japan Heritage
Ikenodairagozaiwa is an underwater site at the bottom of Shirakaba Lake, located at the summit of the pass 1,400 meters above sea level. Artifacts discovered at the site range from the Paleolithic to the ancient Heian period. The region was a wetland used for a hunting and a major crossroads before the industrialization.
