Odoriba Wetlands
Nature/Japan Heritage/Natural Treasure
Odoriba Wetlands are located 1,550 meters above sea level in the Kirigamine Highlands. The wetlands were designated a National Natural Monument in 1939. The wetlands served as watering holes for animals. Therefore, the area around the Wetlands were ideal hunting grounds for Paleolithic and Jomon people. Stone tools found at the wetlands are stored and exhibited at the Suwa City Museum.
