Deep pot decorated with human faces from Ushiro site
This deep pot of the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500?2,500 BC) found at Ushiro site has two human face decorations that seem to represent different emotions of laughter and anger, or perhaps the pain of childbirth and the joy of holding a baby.
