Dogu (clay figurines) excavated from the Sakaue site

Along with the National Treasures Jomon no Venus (Venus of Jomon) and Kamen no Megami (Masked Goddess), this dogu (clay figurine) is a classic example of pottery from the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake. It is the archetype of the dogu that spread throughout central Japan. This dogu is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.
