Artifacts of Sakenomiba site
Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
Some of the findings of the Sakenomiba site dating to the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500-2,500 BC) were designated National Important Cultural Properties in 2013. Particularly, the wide variety of shapes and patterns on the pottery vessels represents the affluent Middle Jomon Period culture in the Mt. Yatsugatake region.
