Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
ome of the findings, including clay figurine (dogu), pottery, and stone tools, of the Ichinosawa site of the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500-2,500 BC) were designated National Important Cultural Properties in 1999. Notably, a clay figurine (dogu), which was named “Itchan” after the site name of “Ichonosawa,” was selected to become a symbolic character for the Yamanashi Prefectural Archaeological Museum. You can see the Itchan symbol on street signs around the museum to direct you to the museum.
