Obsidian of Osadaguchi site

Although there are no obsidian mines in Yamanashi Prefecture, Osadaguchi site contained four large pieces of obsidian in the pit that dated to the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500?2,500 BC). The largest one weighs 940 grams. Those pieces indicate prehistoric trade and exchange with Nagano Prefecture, which has a number of obsidian mines.
