Deep pot of Tonobayashi site

This large deep pot (H: 72 cm) is representative of the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500-2,500 BC) that flourished around Mt. Yatsugatake. It was designated National Important Cultural Property in 1988 and is now well-known internationally because it was loaned to overseas exhibitions in Italy, France, the United States, and Malaysia.
