Deep bowl pottery excavated

Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
A deep bowl from the middle Jomon period created using only uzumaki-mon (decorative spiral or scroll patterns) unlike anything seen before. This is a Yamanashi Prefecture prefecturally designated Important Cultural Property.
The self-standing dogu (clay figurine) known as "Misakappa (water sprite)" was also excavated from the Katsurano site.
