Cultural Heritage/Japan Heritage
One of the centerpieces of Uenohara site is a pot called “suienmon” (flame-and-water pattern) pottery from the Middle Jomon Period (c. 3,500-2,500 BC). This pot is very iconic and was used as design pattern for the manhole cover of Nakamichi town where Uenohara site is located.
